Choices4Teens Mentoring Group was founded in 2003 by MA State Probation Officer Trayce Hillman, who first volunteered to coordinate its programs. Ms. Hillman has a B.A. in Legal Studies from University of Mass/Amherst and over 32 years of experience in the Trial Court and with Choices4Teens Mentoring.

HOW IT STARTED

Our Story

Trayce Hillman, a former Superior Court Probation Officer, is the founder and president of Choices4Teens Mentoring Group.

Over the years I did many investigations, research and risk assessments on adult offenders, including felons still involved in violent gang activity and drug use. I found that their behavior started with risky choices they made as youth, between the ages of 11 and 14.

That is why I started Choices4Teens Mentoring Group.

We are an evidence-based mentoring network with a culturally responsive curriculum. We give youth positive support to turn away from peer pressure and bad choices, and to focus on doing well in school.
