Drug, gang and violence prevention since 2016
Choices4Teens is an after-school mentoring group for middle school youth, ages 11 to 14, in the Brockton area. We are an affiliated member of Mass Mentoring Partnership. Through honest talk, listening and good role models, we help teens build social and thinking skills.
Drug Prevention
We use film study, group talks and role play to help youth spot risky behavior and avoid it.
Gang Prevention
Straight talk with local law enforcement about the dangers of gangs and where gang life leads.
Violence Prevention
Mentors who act as role models and stand up for youth, in a safe and welcoming space.

Events
Mon, Dec 29BrocktonA day dedicated to elevating Brockton's Youth Voices. This event will focus on youth leadership and solutions for change, engaging youth, educators, and stakeholders in meaningful interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking activities.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our Services
Mentorship
We mentor students on a regular basis, working with Mass Mentoring Partnership and Beacon Communities. Middle school youth join our after-school group, which focuses on drug, gang and violence prevention. Our team brings many skills, including mental health providers and staff trained in trauma-informed care, and we are ready to help solve problems.
Curriculum
Our curriculum teaches youth to spot risky behavior and avoid it, through film study, discussion and role play. In the film study "Overcoming Violence," students see the dangers of drug and gang activity through the eyes of the District Attorney, Police Officer and Probation Officer on the cases shown. It was made by the office of former Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley, UMASS Boston and the City of Boston. We also teach social and emotional wellness based on each student's background, with open talk throughout.
Recruitment
We are looking for college students and adult mentors who care about working with middle school youth. Under Chapter 77 of the Acts of 2013, "An Act relative to Background Checks," every mentor needs a fingerprint-based state and national criminal record check.

Choices4Teens Mentoring Group is a community-based after-school program. We help youth see the choices they have, make good ones and reach their own goals.
What We Do
We teach middle school youth a real-world, evidence-based curriculum on drug, gang and violence prevention.
Who We Partner With
We work with the Brockton Police Department, Mayor Robert F. Sullivan, the Plymouth County District Attorney Office, Stonehill College and Mass Mentoring Partnership. Together we run a safe, positive and culturally responsive group with caring adults during the school year.
